A brief summary of proposals
MNA Proposals
- Innovative staffing proposal
- 7% salary increase with new top step
- Increases in shift/charge differentials
- Increase in call pay
- Shift differential for mandatory in-services
- Increase in weekend differentials
- Limit variable positions to 1 year
- Increase hospital’s contribution to pension plan
- Freeze parking rates
- Post vacancies in keeping with past practice (easily accessible)
- 1 year contract
BWH Proposals
- Increase restrictions on vacation time
- Increase number of variables
- Give NLNs hiring preference for ICUs/ED/L&D over any other nurse
- Ability to fill NIC and other positions while disregarding seniority
- Ability to cancel part of a variable nurse’s shift
- Mandatory use of sick time if on FMLA for a family member
- Changes to grievance procedure
- Increase length of probationary period
- 3 year agreement
