Negotiation Update #4

THE OR

There is a serious staffing crisis in the OR. Despite months of Labor/Management meetings describing the horrific staffing inadequacies, there has been NO improvement. At our last negotiation session, a petition signed by the vast majority of OR nurses was presented to CNO Jackie Somerville.

The nurses’ concerns include:

• Multiple staffing holes
• Several staff resignations without timely replacements
• Managers lacking the experience needed to run a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Patients left without appropriate resources for safe care

Nurses are asking that Nursing Leadership immediately address the critical issues of poor staffing and patient safety.

WE WON’T SETTLE THE CONTRACT WITHOUT IT!
