Negotiation Process for a New Contract Set to Begin
Posted on 2.21.08

The MNA Committee sent out the request for proposals. You will be receiving them in the mail. This part of the process is very important because this is how the committee receives the information that generates the proposals we bring forward to negotiations. We need to hear from you!

Our formal negotiations with the hospital begin in July. Until then the committee will be working to develop the bargaining unit’s package to present to the hospital at the start of negotiations. It is important that every nurse participate and send in proposals for review. It does not need to be in proposal form, all that is needed is a general theme from which we can work.

This year we have added an additional form for you to fill out. It is a request for contact information that can be used during negotiations to rapidly update members on critical events that happen during the process. Email was a great tool during our last negotiations and we would like to expand on it. We are not looking to overload your computer with junk/spam mail, but want make pertinent union business available to you in a quick and timely manner.

Negotiations are an exciting time for our bargaining unit. This is where we collectively support our contract and each other to improve not only our wage and benefits but our working conditions and our ability to practice as we believe BWH nurses should practice!
